I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, but it was on several “must try” lists I came across. I made a point of trying G\u00f6teborgs Rap\u00e9 (regular and white) before making my way to the sparkling version, though this post is going to be the first of the three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon opening the can, there’s a sort of musty tobacco aroma, like grandpa’s fancy pipe tobacco (not his usual Captain Black — something he brought back from the war, or got as a gift, or something). I want to say give you some sort of flowery description here, but I keep coming back to “it smells expensive<\/em>.” And that’s a little unusual, because XRange is intentionally not expensive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the initial placement, the salt almost stings a little and then gives way to an honest-to-goodness light champagne flavor. Not white wine. Not elements of champagne. It tastes like it sat in some actual champagne for a while. I know I’m going overboard here, but I recently reviewed the Ministry of Snus Bourbon & Vanilla<\/a> snus that actually lists bourbon on the ingredients — and this tastes more like champagne than that tastes like bourbon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But…<\/strong> the champagne flavor gives way to the more standard flavor of white G\u00f6teborgs Rap\u00e9. And that’s fine. Lots of people like G\u00f6teborgs Rap\u00e9, and probably more than I do. For me, though, it was a bit of a disappointment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portion size was standard for XRange (good) though the dryness and salt seemed to irritate my gums a little. Drip was reasonable, but into 45 minutes, became more like a regular portion than a slim. Nicotine was average, but did give the drip a bit of a harsh undertone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If they could have kept a more consistent flavor, this is another contender for something I’d buy a roll of. As-is though, sure, buy one to experience one of the more unusual flavors snus can deliver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
