General Classic Portion

This is one of the few not-white types I have in my collection, and also one that’s readily available in the United States. (However, your chances of it being stored properly and available before the best-by date are going to vary.)

The pouches are definitely moist, bordering on wet. Enough so that the portions leave some moisture on my fingers, and the top of the can has definite marks from the portions.

As for flavor, there’s a very forward tea-like flavor, reminiscent of Earl Grey with a twist of light citrus atop a straight tobacco flavor. There’s a fullness to it that makes it feel very substantial. There’s little to no wait for the nicotine or flavor.

But, for me, this disappears after about a half hour and goes to straight tobacco. The drip also gets heavier in 30 – 45 minutes. So for me, this is a good pick-me-up, but not something I’d leave in for more than a half hour or so. I know General is popular, but once I cross that 30 minute mark, it’s like keeping an unflavored Skoal Bandit in my upper lip.

To date, General Original is the only snus I’ve needed to spit. And, one of the very few that I’ve actually been able to spit like American dip.
