As you can see, I’ve been enjoying the heck out of this. I think it’s important for Americans to understand that “licorice” here is a bit different than the black licorice that we’re used to.
The flavor is anise, which is like licorice, but most of the domestic black licorice you’d find here has a crazy-strong flavor and gobs of sugar. This is much more herbal, and much less sweet. The raspberry flavor is very, very muted and takes a back seat to everything else going on. I suspected this was going to be more of an anise and tobacco flavor, and the gamble totally paid off.
These don’t really need to be fluffed at all, and the portion size is perfect. No long tails, no scratchy feel against the gums. Just solid flavor that delivers consistently for at least 45 minutes. Drip is on the light side, and the normal strength gives you the nicotine you’d expect from a regular portion of normal strength.
I don’t think I could do it all day, every day. But this is a great pick-me-up that I could easily go through in under a week as part of a rotation.
