Skruf Tranbar White

The friendly folks at /r/snus tend to give Skruf a mixed record. Some people adore it, others have labeled it as “cheap” or worse, despite being a premium brand. As my first foray into flavored snus, I didn’t really have any preconceptions.

Opening it up, the cranberry (or tranbar) aroma was very muted. I’m not 100% sure I’d even know it was cranberry if I had been given a blind test. The first flavor was a punch of salt, which I’ve come to expect from Skruf. The salt quickly gave way to a light tobacco and an even lighter cranberry.

The lightness really makes this a go-to for me. You know it’s there, and it’s just enough to offer a bit of intrigue and nuance to a white portion. If this was all I could get my hands on, I’d be okay with that.

As far as I’m concerned, Skruf makes the most comfortable portions for a regular size, and the drip is absolutely perfect. Minimal, but a couple taps with your tongue, and you’re back in Flavortown.

This is rated as a two-dot on the nicotine, but seems to have just a tiny bit more kick than two dots from most Swedish Match brands.

Unless you have an aversion to cranberries, I’d recommend this to anyone.
